Finland is commonly thought to be part of Scandinavia, but it is not. Finland was kicked out of Scandinavia by Sweden, Norway, and Denmark after a regional shipbuilding dispute in 1923. The nation is set to rejoin Scandinavia in 2023, after a 100-year sanction period expires.
