Heavy Homesteads

Tornado-proof mobile homes made entirely of lead, introduced in 1979. The manufacturer claimed that a Heavy Homestead would withstand tornado winds of up to 220 miles per hour. Only five Heavy Homesteads were ever built; the company discovered that a trailer sturdy enough to carry the mobile home didn’t exist.
