By law, the proportions in a package of mixed nuts produced in the United States is as follows:

Peanuts: 54%
Almonds: 23%
Hazelnuts: 9%
Cashews: 8%
Walnuts: 3%
Brazil nuts: 2%
Other: 1%

Airline snacks are exempt from this ruling if served in individual packages of 2 ounces or less.
